Well I'm Ren-E and I'm back from the dead! Chillin' at the beach down at Killbread!
Aw, Vesta Leuuunch, the Toronto scene, I really am missing it right now. I hope y'all remember your Uncle Renny out here bringing our group's sensibility to foreign lands up here. I'm like a missionary for our distinct brand of eccentricity. Think of me like that.
Big ups to Sam for doing me favours related to York. Man I am DREADING my last year there. Like DREAD.
KB's sweet though. Barring the obligatory romantic rejection, Renny's doing well. Tonight my sister comes up and I think that's great. We're going to do fun stuff and I want to make some new comics. I've been working for 9 days in a row now. I'm working on this awesome program about sawmills. SAWMILLS, baby.
I sent a couple of you a picture of yours truly (Renny) in the Toronto Sun, posing as if I'm a Naturalist. (feel free to show interested others) Yeah, man, face and name in the paper. Too bad it's the Sun, but hey, we couldn't ask for a better audience more in need of the info in the article. Even if it has several errors. Hm. The reporter was 100 years old.
No wonder people hate driving examiners. I failed my highway test yesterday because I merged with traffic on the DVP too slowly. I wish I could have gotten a re-do. After he got out of the car I had to use all of my self-restraint not to run him over. Too bad they already had all of my information. Shit.
On Monday I had a 90 minute phone interview with a woman from the volunteer organization about a placement in South Africa (or elsewhere). I think it went really well.
The Colbert Report is brilliant. Thank you YouTube for this segment. YouTube seems to have become the interweb flavour of the week, soon to be cast upon the debris pile of old interfads.
EDIT: HOLY SHIT! The situation in Israel really seems to be deteriorating. When all the settlers moved out of Gaza and the West Bank last summer it looked like peace was at hand. Now all hell is breaking loose. The Israeli Defence Force has moved into Lebanon after Hezbollah captured two soldiers. The Second Intifada has been going on for six years, I wonder why it hass taken Israel's various enemies this long to start kidnapping soldiers. Time will tell if it is an effective strategy.
First is this guy. He's hilarious and math references make my heart flutter.
Second is this crazy Baldino guy we met at Vesta Lunch. He was doing card tricks and sleight of hand and such. As evidenced by the above picture with Sam, he clearly won our hearts over.
