Friday, August 19, 2005Renny and his crazy mu'fuckas
So, things are pretty good for the Renster. Me ma got up here on the 17th and she went to Fiona and Ananda's show Licence To Killbear. Solid. I went also. Then last noight she came to my show, The Reg Breen Show. Also solid.
The night before I did Reg Breen this time I had a dream that Tony told me he had a little something special planned for this round. He went on stage to introduce me like always, but he got up on 20 foot high stilts. Then he flipped out two life-size Tony puppets. He manipulated them like a ventriloquist to talk when he was talking so that it was like three Tonys saying everything he said. I was extremely impressed but also concerned that with this new addition, we wouldn't make it through all the info in the program. Fuck, it's raining like deeez nuutz up here, hence the trip to the library. Yeh man. The wardens are supposed to have a big party soon which may or may not be tonight. Damned wardens. They were hosting a lot more parties at the start of the year. Or, in retrospect, holding more "auditions". Hmm, that's it for now, folks. Sounds like everything is swell in the TO. Also, Benji should make a post. Do the MONO!
I really hope that I don't have mono. That would suck royally. Someone that I work with might have it, and I'm typing at her computer right now. Guess I should have disinfected it before I used it, eh? Craptastic.
Stuff's starting to get pretty stressful right now. What with Excal starting up, and school on its way. I might also have another big time writing gig that may see me published all over Canada (maybe even the States too). I've got a phone interview on Monday, keep your fingers crossed for me. Might be in Toronto next week. May even be up for my Birthday (Aug 25th), so if I am, would any of you fine people want to go out and party with me? As of right now I don't really have any plans so.... hopefully some fun will be had. I'm out, gotta get back to work. A request
Friend Kate is lookin' for a roommate and she has a very very short time frame to find one (and a place) in. Anybody know anyone who might be good? She's pretty worried at this point.
Updates in Benland to follow at some point. Happy Yesterbirthday, Matthew! ***EDIT TO ADD*** I want to go see the Fiery Furnaces (Oct 10/$16.50) and the American Analog Set (Nov 3/$12). Anyone want to come? I WILL be going to these concerts, even if I have to be a loser and go by myself. But I'd prefer company. They are both totally awesome and you will love them. Oh and M.I.A. is coming back soon. We should probably go to that, too. Tuesday, August 16, 2005Goin' Ape (politically)
Man, does this quiz ever have some leading questions on it. Keep a watch for the ones that use the pronoun "we" instead of "i". Strange, it is. Still, it portrays me as a polio victim, so I'm happy. In other news, I'm making another sojourn to Muskoka, but I should be back by sunday. I hope to make some comics while I'm up there, so I'll be sure to try'n post 'em when I'm done. Have a great week, every peoples! Monday, August 15, 2005Flailing Away
Hey lads and ladies of the lady-liking persuasion check it out Keira Knightley is back on the open market. Who needs an Irish man-model anyway? Thank you msn.com, my day was incomplete before that story.
I borrowed the Illuminati EP from Ben and it rocks damn hard. Listening to it on the subway my natural reaction start head banging and mashing the high strings on my air guitar like meedlee meedlee meedlee meeedlee broooooow. That's when Coach Z goes Animal on the drums and he's all like tssh tssh boom BOOM TSSH BOOM boom TSSH and then Strong Sad kicks in on bass and he's all like brung brung brunga. That's when I grab the mike and in the most primal way possible scream "LET'S ROCK AND ROOOOOOLL" then I throw my guitar, the mike stand and my shoes into the audience and walk off stage. No wonder people on the subway look at me funny. Today I was calling Community Living Associations across the province, but I misdialed and instead of getting Community Living Central Huron I got Nelson Irregation in Walla Walla, Washington. I didn't know that Walla Walla was a real place, I thought it was a place of fiction like Timbukto, Lake Titicaca, Narnia and Wyoming. Once again I have been decieved by cartoons. |
