This guy is a true hero. He dug a hole, in his back yard, for the sake of digging a hole. Why isn't anyone else that cool.
Also, this is just fucking weird.
haha ok, so I'm leaving for the weekend for my own camping expedition at presqu'ile. Please keep planning in my leave. Yes, Ben also seems to think this "Myers" character will want to drive us up there and come along. Sounds good. And this eight person tent: ok good. But no farting in the tent! I will not be forced into a dutch oven of someone else's brand. Plus, tents tend to lock in "flava" so ... it's gonna stank like ass either way.
Haven't you ever noticed how people and their tents start smelling like authentic ass when they camp? It's like.. the eating habits and swimming and sand in places you didn't know you had space for sand... combined, they take on the reek of ass.
Quick update on my life: Saw this dance nerd guy John on my way to Salsa class... He knows how to say my name properly and we've never been formally introduced. He makes me feel famous.. but also a little shy cause he KNOWS SO MUCH not only about the dance world, but my own contribution to it. Like all the York Student shows? I see him there. He's seen my works. He's seen my improvising. He's seen my goddamn SOUL. Plus he saw me at crazy other shit I can't even remember. He doesn't dance tho cause of some spine thing... or so I've heard.
Also, I've been assisting at this dance studio on ... Dundas West. It's nuts. Really stupid... easy. I'm not getting paid. Oh well. It's the experience. Plus the kids are cute as freakin' hell. Plus they might hire me for the Fall (!YES!)
Oh yeah, and this dance nerd guy is on the email list for my salsa studio.
To the Killbearettes: Come home, you globs of hair. And we'll truly hang like chimps.
Um, glad to see that the blog is active while my inbox is not. Please understand that I can't always check the blog, so email would be appreciated.
A weeek ago I made a plan to return to Toronto on July 18 - July 20. I chose July 18 because it is when my mom is returning from Algonquin and can give me a lift. Ben may also be taking these same days off to return to TO along with me. So guys, we should have one night at my or Neil's house or something where we all catch up and play videogames, and another where we hit the bar (Jacob, Benji).
I am glad to hear of the August plan to come up here. Thank you Shirin. I think the ride will once again be your greatest challenge. If Box can do it or something, that would work out. I hope I'm doing an amphitheatre program whilst you're here.
Neil, don't quit at Wunderland.
I'm sick, it sucks.
Camping wise I could probably get 18/19-21 off work no problems. But I don't think I could get a week off work. Though frankly I'd rather fall in the deep fryer than continue to work there. It really really sucks.
Thats all I can think of right now
The camping thing sounds pretty cool. I don't know if I'm off work then though. And in my profession saying "Taking a few days off" is synonmous with "Ma'am, I'm so sorry. We found your son's body in the Don River". So I'll check with that.
I really liked Spiderman 2, even though the fusion thing made me visibly wince. Jameson was absolutely hilarious of course, but I really enjoyed The Importance of Being Earnest which my school did in grade12 (and incidently rejected me for the part of Algernon). I'm not much of a Spiderman fan, I never really read the comics or watched the show but you could tell that the director had. And the story arc so is brillantly set up with obviously Harry-As-Goblin (and I'm betting Lizard) in 3 and Venom in 4 (prediction may be contain spoilers).
Speaking of predictions, you might want to disregard that. I'm bad at predictions and the universe seems to take a peverse delight in disproving them instantly. Today for example my "Kerry won't pick Edwards, it's too obvious" prediction was smashed to bits as was my "Mark Evans is the Half-Blood Prince" thing I posted about below. Mere days after I say that, JK Rowling says on her website that not only is Mark Evans not the Half-Blood Prince but that there is absolutely nothing special about him and everything I mentioned is pure coincedence.
I have a big tent that can hold eight people. The tent is taken care of. Also, we could all just go and shop for tasty food items the day before we leave. It's what we did last time.
I picked my iBook up from the shop this morning and to my surprise, the mouse suddenly didn't work. They had replaced the display, clutch and brace like they said they would but somehow forgot to reconnect the trackpad. Turns out the damn thing was just unplugged.
Holy crap, this feels nice. Having my iBook back.
Also, on the subject of Doc Ock, I was disappointed he had no German accent. I was thinking it would be really cool if the fusing of the tentacles to his spinal cord gave him the accent. But alas, it was not to be. Spidey had his mask off way too much in this movie. From what I'm seeing in the commercials I'm looking forward to playing the new videogame, too - the last one kicked ass, even if I did have to buy a new video card to run it.
Shirin, I'm not much of an outdoorsy person. Well, not much of a camping trip person. I like the outdoors in small (upper-bounded by "day-long") doses. Plus I have like two jobs that I'd have to book off, and a bunch of other obligations and stuff - I may already be going somewhere this summer so I don't want to push my luck too much. Thanks for the offer, though, and I may have things to give you for Ben (assuming you'll be seeing him, etc.).
Finally, on the subject of Spider-Man, check out the best cartoon public service announcement EVER. It leaves a big "?!" over my head. What kind of sick kid was this "Skip"? Did this event contribute to Spidey's "with great power comes great responsibility" mantra even more than the death of Uncle Ben? One has to wonder.
Okaaaay! Proposition to all those who have not heard from me:
August 18/19th to the 21st
Killbear Provincial Park
So far, we need:
-A DRIVE!!! (I can't. I'm car-illiterate. Plus, the bus would suck for tents and coolers)
-TENTS!!! (Easy. C'mon, -I- have a 2 or 3 person tent. We could fit four. You probably have a gunny sack at least.)
-FOOD!!! (Neil and I have decided hot dogs and veggie dogs could be enough, but it's up to YOU to nutritionize yourself, yo.)
-YOUR RSVP!!! (Can't book the site(s) unless we know who wants to come.)
People on the/my list:
-Shirin (I'm first cause I said so)
-Neil (Second coolest)
-Maddy (I'm sure she's cool too.)
-Matt (but his birthday is on the 18th, and that may be the only time he can truly chill with his parents, so I say 18/19... this -is- a democrazy.)
-Alex (Ben's brother. Apparently his family is planning a trip too. Details are up in the air.)
I've called Jacob, left a message.
Sam is sniffing paint fumes for a few weeks.
Matt called Benji because there's no way I'm calling so many people who don't really know me. I'm shy, no matter how much I fake it. He's not on the list cause of radioshack. But he could be on the list soon. Who knows? Anything could happen when you're goin' ape.
Call me for whatever.
@ Mom's: 416.604.9721 (did I put my number up before?... whatever. take it now!)
[EDIT: Hey Dave! Don't worry about it; it won't be the same without you, but I understand that you have other commitments. As for being outdoorsy, well... Ben and Leo say we should drug Sam and lug him in the trunk no matter how much he protests. Your jobs saved you! Consider yourself lucky... this time.
And anyone else in this bloggy thing who wants to come, you are invited, just pitch in with transport or whatever and contact me.]
[EDIT 2, aka P.S.: Ben is looking into the possibility of booking something during the last week of July. This would totally be easier transportation-wise cause then we could get a drive up on a Sunday and a drive home on a Saturday, is what he says. This is cool, and a little exciting, but also a lot of time to be spending in a park that has 'kill' and 'bear' in it's name. I guess I could handle it, but would this seriously interfere with work schedules of people (aka NEIL) or whatever? Let me know what this means to you in 200 words or less. Due... asap? marked out of ten. worth 10% of your final grade.-_- ]
Leave you in the summertime, leave you when the summer comes along.
Yeah, so I'm goin' up to my cottage for a coupla weeks. Not for partys and fun either; I'm going up to paint! So basically, I won't be in town for the next coupla weeks, so if any of youse guys need to contact me, don't. On the plus side, I'll be making money offa this, so once I do get back, I'll be all the wealthier for it. So I can pay for movies and stuff.
Speaking of movies, I saw Spider-Man 2 yesterday with my cousins. Good stuff, indeed! Doc Ock was great, both pre and post extra limbs (the tentacles were great, all the supporting characters were given good parts (except John Jameson, but I suspect we'll se more of him next time) and to top it off, there was a Bruce Campell cameo! (I also noted a couple of scenes in the movie with a distinct "Evil Dead" feel to them) Also, to Ben if you manage to catch this post: I now know what Toby Maguire's face doesn't change much to convey emotion: it looks really, really goofy.
Okay, well that's about it. Have a great 2 weeks!
P.S. I sure would be pleasantly surprised if someone had planned a party for me when I get back. Yup. That'd sure be something.
... are apparently becoming a big problem in Malaysia. Who knew?
The best comes at the end of the story.
The department also reported that when female staff were taking calls they were inundated with men wanting to report emergencies of a different kind.
I tried to make a post responding to Shirin's one. It gave me an error. I don't feel like re-writing it. So in closing the internet can go fuck a syphilitic armadillo corpse.
ATTENTION! We need to get started on organizing some kind of Killbear-Adventure-Trip-Quest-Thang. SOON! Ben and Leo (mostly Leo) are getting antsy at seeing you cute little teddy bears, so we should get moving on this excavation.
I say, good sir, it's not the kind of sauce you use, it's how you use it while drunk.
Plus, we already discussed the "sinking in" thing. It's random and kinda half hearted. Also, Mark Evans? Someone needs to be telling Harry he has relatives at school and isn't the lonesome whiny twat he thinks he is. I'd be a happier orphan if I knew I had a secret brother.
Also, Back to planning. So, Neil, you're smart enough to handle responsiblity right? I could help if only we used phones to contact people more... 416.604.9721
Let's get this organized, cause as much as I'd love to have Ben surprise me loads randomly in August, I'd like to see him (errr and Leo!) earlier than that. And that requires PLANNING AND MONEY AND ETC from us.
I'm guessing we won't be able to plan anything for July considering it's July now. Unless we can do camping during the week. [EDIT: Ben says he'll look into this. Possibly the last week of July?] Do we have a way of getting up there? Do we have the assets to realistically fund this thing? Can we get a permit/whatever thing?
I have faith in Neil, O shorter haired one. -_- I bow down to thee.
This is quite disturbing. This coming from me, whose paycheque comes partially/indirectly from the company in question. Ughh.
So apparently I'm a very dull drunk. I get drunk enough not to remember what happened the night before, and find out the spilling applesauce is the most exciting thing I did. What the Hell? Applesauce?!? If I was drunk enough to black out, I damn well better have been picking fights with homeless people or makin' out with 'em, not just sitting on a couch staring vacantly into space. Christ, next time I wanna get shitfaced, I'm going with liquor. I mean, beer's fine for relaxing with your buds, which I guess is what we were doing anyways, but if I black out I want to hear good stories, not that I spent the evening watching paint dry.
In any case, the shin-dig went pretty well from what I gather, although I had to be reminded that we picked up Benji. Also, we got to drink mead, which has always been a dream of ours. All in all, a good day.
