I'm a he-ro.
These days I just want to rap all the time. Raprapraprap. Probably thanks to recent armshot in my music collection. Kanye, Talib (Thanks, WB) and The Leuuuve Movement by the Tribe which I only just got. Fuck, plus Obie Trice is gonna have a new album out soon. Gots ta cop that.
But while I've been listening to rap, I've been inking my Sistine (sp?) Chapel. It's my longest comic for publication. I don't think it's my greatest, but I still like it and it tells first time readers The Origins of Apple in a non-expositional way. Heh. Any feedback is welcome.
I know I'm not that far removed from being a 'kid' myself and I can acknowledge that I do dumb shit but these kids take the cake. On monday I was walking across the school yard at St. Luke's, the Catholic school near my house. It was about 3:30 so there we kids hanging around the yard. There were a group of boys taking chunks of torn up pavement and tossing them towards the wall, trying to see who could get it closest, as if they were playing Quarters. A teacher told them to stop because they were going to break a window, one particularly greasy kid sneered "nuh-uh we're being careful". On the very next throw they broke the window.
I got myself a new belt buckle, it has Don Quixote on it. I'm really pleased.
For Halloween we're going out as the Village People. 'We' being housemates Tom and Ryan, friend Jayden and myself. Tom is the biker and Ryan is the Indian. Devon is going as the witch king from lord of the rings, I think he and/or his mom have been working on the costume for a while.
This weekend Kate is going to the last rowing regatta of the season, in Welland. Trent is too cheap to put the all the rowers up in a hotel for 2 nights, so they're in a hotel tomorrow night and then will have to leave the big end of season party at 3am on saturday night/sunday morning to drive home.
So I've been sitting around on my ass the last two weeks since my job ended. Yesterday I went for an Interview at Alliance Atlantis, and it was for a pretty cool job. I did fairly well in the interview I think but I don't know if I have the job yet.
Today, not more than twenty minutes ago I got a call from the producer at my job. They need an Animation Assistant and they've offered me employment until April. This is really suprising because the day before yesterday they were not going to re-hire me.
So I suppose its good news for me, but it's left me sort of confused.
Oh well now I'll have less time off and work again, so the next few days I gotta party it up!
Quick edit, I ran a certain blog we all know and love through Jacobs blog=money machine and got this result
So I found out I have strep throat. It's kinda funny how I did though, it was left as a message on my machine. Is this common practice in the medical world? What happens if you have a communal phone? Beep. Hi Tim, this is Queen's Student Health calling. You have anal gonorrhea. Anyway I'm taking drugs for it and was breazing through the side-effects–nausea this, vomiting that–and I come to this "can cause serious, even fatal side effects such as a severe peeling skin rash known as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome". Which is surprising. I thought they only named a disease after you if you had a cool name like Lou Gehrig or Kaposi. But apperently you can have a run of the mill one.
Anyway, this website calculates how much your blog is worth (based on this. We done good:
All neglected for our schoolin's. I have a production planning test on Friday. yay! yesterday I went to sinnersiege (Yerk juried student filmfest) with ben yesserday. As always, it was hit'n'miss. Mostly hits, I thought. I just don't understand why it takes 3rd and 4th year fiction filmmakers a crew of 20 just to get anything shot. 2nd year crews were four people - light, sound, camera, director. These third and fourth year films don't look five times better with 5 times the crew. They look maybe 1.5 times better. When I shoot next year ain't nobody gonna be sittin' around on set eating my food and taking up space.
