Box, what should I get for the wedding? Is it ok if I show up in muddy jeans and a puffy jacket blasting Redman eating fried chicken and swigging a 40? Can I be best man?
I'm glad that the city is getting new sources of desperately needed cash. On the other hand, the idea of a tax that targets our demographic is pretty infuriating. Are they going to put a tax on walkers, hearing aids and Viagra, the accessories of the Baby Boom Generation. I know I'm not the first to say this....Now would be a great time to enter the funeral home industry.
This was the weekend to finally go meet Kate's parents. The trip was really successful. I had met her 17 year old sister back in March. Her parents really made me feel welcome. They reminded me of my own family, except they live in a much neater home. Once I turned on the charm, they didn't stand a chance.
Kate goes off to England and France for a month today, so we spent most of the weekend just lounging around her backyard or walking around Kingston. It will be a tough month.
In less melodramatic and more Boxian news I burned down an derelict garage, punched a homeless woman and subjugated an indeginous people.
...
JUST KIDDING, it was a homeless man, I would never hit a woman. Unless she was really begging for it. Some people are kinky that way.
Hey! Hey! I've got a birthday! Don't delay! It's on the 14th of May!
...or June.
Anyways, I want to go to the Lab to celebrate, even though it has jacked up its prices. I like the place, though it clearly isn't the establishment it once was. For the martini night, as I have recently taken to Manhattans. C'mon, it'll be fun!
Anyways, that's it for plans. I saw Spiral Beach the other day. Not on a venue, me an' the Neil just ran into the entire band on the streetcar. Bev Calder, too.
Proof positive that Toronto, and perhaps the whole world, hates good-for-nothing young people.
"The Ontario government has passed a law that gives the City of Toronto new taxing powers. The legislation, first introduced early this year, gives Toronto's city council the chance to institute municipal taxes on alcohol served at bars and restaurants, plus movie and concert tickets."
You probably already knew this, but I just thought that I should vent a bit.
London. Feb. 14 (Reuters) - Europe today enjoyed the balmiest February weather in 100 years. Berlin had a temperature of 60 degrees - warmest Valentine's Day since records started in 1830.
I found this newspaper clipping in a used German textbook that I bought for $1 at a church book sale downtown. It pleased me, mostly because of this amusing and nonsensical video that I had previously seen, which uses the word "balmy" three times. This supplies even further evidence for my conjecture that you simply cannot use the word "balmy" too much.
