...It's like I never left...

Through circumstance I've ended up back in TO for the weekend. Hilarious, ain't it? As Ben heads up to move into our room at KB.

Anyways, if you thought I was down for stuntin' saturday night, you goddamn right.

Tonight is for a lil' quality time with the internet. Not like that... Wholesome comics and whatnot.

Oooh, I doubt you know this, but we had a tornado warning in
k'bear + nearby areas. The TV said to stop watching it and go hide. It wasn't actually raining that hard but when the TV says to stop watching it, that usually means business. So we went to admin. We watched "Half-Baked" in the basement. The film is in fact starring Dave Chappelle and Vaughn Road's "Dutch Dreams". After an hour the radye said it was safe to go home so we did and watched the rest of the movie. It is kind of fun to feel like maybe you're in danger when the chance of real injury is remote.

Last night we went to Parry Sound's only "club" Alcatraz. It is a slum and they charge 4.75 for domestic. Some narsty, narsty 40 year old Parry Sounder tried to hit on two of the K'bear girls we went with. He was really gross and hick and drunk. I made my presence clear behind the girls and even went as far as fake boyfriend (she has a real boyfriend) until this dreg of a man did away with himself.

Yeh, and I enrolled online to Yirk.

Yeh, and shit. And I'm here til sunday afternoon, maybe leaving like early afternoon.

We're here for a good time not a long time

It seems that the police are staking out the intersection of Harrison and Shaw, just around the corner from my house. For the past three days as I've been leaving the house in the morning I've seen at least one cruiser sitting there and each time the cops had pulled over a vehicle, this morning they appeared to be ticketing a cyclist. Perhaps this is the crack down on reckless cycling I've heard about, well they haevn't caught me yet. Speaking of the po' I saw a pair of horse cops giving some dude on Bloor street a ticket.

I inhaled too much aerosol today and started singing songs by Trooper while I spraypainted.

Pneumatic nail gun: toy or terror? Discuss

WHAT WHAT

Hokay the deal:

I'm going up to Killbear Saturday (tomorrow). I might have a job herein Toronto, though, and shortly. In which case I'll be BACK. For SURE. Which would be so AWESOME.

If I don't then I won't, sorry.

Saka is amazing.

Peace.

Lordy, Lordy! Look Who's... twenty

Me.

So yesterday, I reached the big 2-0. The ol' duo-decade. Double-Ex. And so far I've got $60 and some Newsradio DVD's to show for it. Cool stuff. Anyways, just a reminder that I'll be celebrating this occasion at the Lab on thursday, prolly around 9. If you're an Aper, a reader, or know someone who is, feel free to attend. Should be fun.

But yesterday was not only my birthnday. Birthday wishes to Chris Onstad as well. Happy birthday, man.

So yeah, come on thursday, bring yer friends. It'll be fun.

In Soviet Russia, Storm Beats You

I decided to try to beat the storm yesterday. I had stayed at work through the initial deluge, but when it looked like it had abated I decided to go forth. Big mistake. About halfway home I hear a guy in front of me yell, "Awh Shit!" Then the heavens opened up. On the plus side, I didn't need to take a shower when I got home. Or I wouldn't have had to take a shower had I not been drenched in dank disgusting road water from every car that raced by.

Today I stayed at work for a different–though more embarassing–reason. Magic. The guys were talking about it the other day so I put together another deck (blue/black/green) and took it in to fight. What I intended to be a quick brick turned into an hour. We played 4 games and we each won 2. The first two (which I won) were under "truce" conditions, so 3-4 turns of relative harmony before the bloodbath started. Ideally, that would've been flipped cause I got a good starting hand the first 2 (and couldn't really take advantage of it) and really shitty the last two. It's really interesting playing against your own deck, those you thought were allies have now turned on you. The games where you give a little at the beginning are a lot more fun. He had a hugh stash of mana and had brought out a wyrm and a dragon (7/6 and 7/7 flying trample). The wyrm I spirit-shackled (0/-2 counter every time it taps). He had attacked once, then I used a spell to tap it, shot it with prodigal sorcceror untapped him via a creature I think I traded with from sam and shot it again. Anyway that was completely pointless and geeky digression to the fate of the elder dragon legend who I killed with a card that destroys white creatures. I argued that there is no "gold" colour, a gold-coloured creature counts as being all of its component colours. We resolved the issue with a coin-flip which I won (incidentally, I'm right on that issue).

Anyway, here's an ad for magic I thought up (though probably someone else had come up with it first):

Finally, Firefly rocks and this is a very cool link indeed (via Mildly Melancholy.

Sooo jealous!

Grrr! I hate you Ben/everyone else who went to NXNE. I really wanted to go... There were a bunch of parties i could have gone to... Actually I was supposed to go camping this past weekend, but unfortunately my grandmother passed away on Thursday so I had to do the whole family gathering hting, so I wouldn't have been able to go to NXNE either way.

BTW, happy B-day to Leo/Sam and anyone else who is enjoying their b-day around this time of year. Wish I could do the parties w/ you, but as it is I'm pretty stuck here with no money and no job and no future. On the bright side, we did just get our Blazer working so I now have a car! Woohoo!

Hey, you guys should come down to visit this summer. We can go cow tipping and ice cream eating - whatever floats your boat. It would be fun.

Out.

Kill, kill, kill - Murda, murda, murda

The fuck, guys? I did advertise it on the stupid site. Happy Birfday t'me!

But, I'm in a good mood. We did this great kayaking trip on my birfday with the whole division. Kayaked out for an hour to Franklin Island, one of the nicest Gaeroraergian Bay-scapes I've ever seen, camped overnight and ate well. Had me a angelfood cake wif strawberries.

Last noight was hold'em mania. 3 games. One for fun, one for beeyah and one for $2. I won the beer game! I lost to the warden on the twoonie game cause he had ridiculous luck and I was dead tired.

And uh... now I'm back in TO. Feelin' good. Tonight I think is "out for dinner with the fam" but we'll see, we'll square up official plans. I'd like to do a Leo-Sam b-day catch 23 night. Just a thuggestion.

NXNE, final night (Sat 11)

Awwwwwwwwwww man.

Aw man.

So we (Box Matt Neil Salmon Eye) went to Sneaky Dee's tonight for a punk show. It was mostly mediocre, but...

9pm - The Fallout
Punk. You know, like. Punk rock. Basically.

10pm - The Man is Five
New York punker chix with a wicked drummer dude. The lead singer (flipper baby?) had a fantastic voice, something akin to a mezzo-soprano, if not full-powered, which was an interesting mix with the brash guitar and bass. The bassist had HOT hair.

11pm - The Spunks
Awwwwwwwww man.

Aw man.

This is what we came for. We were not disappointed. Awesome punk act out of Tokyo, they started off by chugging half a mickey of Jacky D's, and everything went uphill from there. Awesome rock-out songs that had us dancing and headbanging, crazy antics, and they pulled Box onstage to do some kareoke! EASILY the best set all weekend, and the best showing I've seen in a while. Or ever maybe. Absolutely fantastic. We all bought (the same ) tshirts too.

12am - Jerrycan
It was difficult to follow the Spunks. These guys tried, I guess. I was thinking about what I was going to do this week during their set. Box added up his earnings. Neil and Sam talked about Warhammer or something dumb, I'm pretty sure.

And that's it. It's over. I'm sad now.
